Walk the Earth is a GPS location game which rewards you for exploring/reaching random destinations! You can set how far youre willing to travel with a simple slider. The app then generates fresh targets in your surroundings at the push of a button. Its your job to get as close to them as possible! If you reach a target, youll be rewarded with Coins and Refreshes. Coins are simply an overall score; they measure how many places youve been, and how far youve travelled to get to them. Refreshes allow you to generate new targets, with each one costing a single Refresh. If your Refresh balance gets low, youll automatically receive more the next day.The app has a minimal user interface which is easy to read when youre out in the field. Once youve got a GPS signal, you can create new random targets using the Refresh button. When you find one you like, swipe through the navigation pages to see useful info about your destination. The first page shows your destinations coordinates. Tapping on them will open your favourite mapping app, with a marker placed at the target. Google Maps with offline coverage is recommended. Next is a directional display, which shows the distance and compass bearing to your target in real-time. It also includes a pointer which updates based on your location trail. Simply start walking, and the arrow will show you which way to turn! Each target has a specified Claim Radius, which dictates how close you need to get to receive a reward. Even if you cant access the exact destination, you may still be able to claim a partial reward for being nearby. More distant targets have a larger Claim Radius; this means that rewards are easier to access if youre willing to travel further! The Claim button on the user interface gives you all relevant reward info for your active target....and thats all there is to it!Walk the Earth is really just for fun, and it aims to give you a small reason to go outside and see new places. Always be safe and sensible when using the app, and dont break the law! If a target is inaccessible, or it sits in restricted/private property, just refresh until you find a better one. Have fun out there!
